In the first edition of our national medical student’s summit we have invited a wide variety of acclaimed speakers. First is Dr. A Gopal Krishna Gokhale who is a renowned Indian cardiothoracic surgeon and is known for being the first to perform a successful human-to-human heart transplant and first successful lung transplant in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. He has also done the first successful implantation of ventricular assist device as a bridge to the recovery of the heart.
Dr. Karri Rama Reddy a well renowned psychiatrist who received the prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy National Award from President Pranab Mukherjee in 2014 in recognition of his outstanding services in the field of socio-medical relief. He is not only a psychiatrist, but has numerous degrees in a variety of fields including being an academic lawyer, computer engineer, management professional, journalist, teacher, educationist, writer, linguist as well as a professional librarian. DR.V V PILLAY
Dr. V V Pillay who is currently the chief of poison control centre and clinical forensic medicine, Head of Department of Analytical Toxicology and Forensic Biotechnology and Professor of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Cochin, Kerala. He is one of the few toxicologists who is a certified instructor for the Advanced HAZMAT Life Support Course of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology.
Dr. G Jagadishwar Goud who is the head of surgical oncology and clinical director, robotic sciences at Yashoda Hospitals, Secunderabad. He is a well-known personality in the field of robotic surgery. A team of doctors lead by Dr. G Jagadishwar Goud were the first to perform scar-less robotic thyroidectomy in South India.
